Robbers loot over 83 shops in one night in Quetta

Shopkeepers protest police 'inaction'

Over eighty three shops were robbed Sunday night in Quetta within the limits of the Khaliqabad and Pashtunabad police stations.

Police said unidentified men had robbed mobile shops, grocery shops and medical stores in the Pashtunabad, Mitha Chowk and Mehmoodabad areas.

The robbers tied the street watchman with a rope and broke the shutters of the shops to break in, said police.

According to the shopkeepers, the robbers were present in the shops for many hours, but the police did not do anything. The shop owners protested against the police.

Quetta DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema said only 22 shopkeepers have registered a complaint. A show-cause notice was issued to two station house officers and officers on duty
