Mahira Khan completely 'blownover' by Cake -The Film
The actress was in London, where she, besides the Asian Film Festival, also attended Cake's UK premiere at West End
It was sometime back that we brought you guys the news of how Cake was going to be the first Pakistani movie to have its premiere in London at West End. The premiere took place on 13th March and it was indeed a star studded with Aaminah Sheikh, Adnan Malik and Sanam Saeed all gracing the red carpet with their presence. But another very special guest who decided to attend the special premiere was non other than Mahira Khan who was completely blown over by the film .
Present in the UK to attend the Asian Film Festival where Mahira also won an award for contribution to film and activism , it was great to see her come out and support her fellow actors at such a massive event in their lives. But what was more touching was her usage of words which has made us want to see Cake as soon as possible .
"As I was watching it I was in complete awe of the movie and as I came back home I was telling a friend of mine that I just cant believe I saw this - it was just so good," told Mahira to a reporter.
Adding further Mahira stated, "Starting from the script to the direction, actors, stylists and even cinematography there were shots where I was like, is this for real as there were like a ten minute one take shot. I was blown over to be very honest and I am very proud of these guys."
Even cricketer turned politician Imran Khan gave Cake a thumbs up after a special screening was held for him in Islamabad. And now, with Mahira praising it as well we are sure Cake will be a treat to watch.
The movie deals with love, loss and responsibilities as the aging patriarch of the Jamali family is taken ill and his eldest daughter and sole caregiver, Zareen, is forced to reconnect with her sister, Zara, on her return from London.
With Cake all set to release on 30th March, this is a movie which we cant wait to watch and review now that Mahira Khan too has given her nod of approval to it.
