In Review: Qurban Bids Adieu Leaving Us A Bit Teary-Eyed

Qurban’s story took us on an emotional roller-coaster ride since first episode and we will certainly miss watching it
Once again, the amazingly talented trio comprising of Iqra Aziz, Bilal Abbas Khan and Shehzad Sheikh, has left a positive mark on the audience with their brilliant performance in "Qurban" which came to an end this week.
Written by Zafar Mairaj, Qurban featured a well-planned and intriguing story where one could never predict the end. It kept us wondering till the very last episode if who amongst Shahmeer (played by Shehzad Sheikh) and Qaiser (played by Omair Rana) will walk free or face the death penalty. Bringing to a pleasant close, the drama had us hooked to the screens till the very last episode.
So, did Shahmeer walk out of the jail as a free man in the end? Well, read along to find more.
With Qaiser having confessed in front of his dominating grand-mother (played by Shamim Hilali) that it was him who killed Jamal (played by Bilal Abbas Khan) in the name of honor, tensions were at an all-time high; however, the best part had been his realization that what he did was wrong as he had shot an innocent man without knowing the proper story about Heer (played by Iqra Aziz) and Jamal’s relationship. He decided to tell truth to the police that sets Shahmeer free.
However, Qaiser’s wife (played by Ayesha Toor) could not see him rot in jail, and therefore, locked him up where he ended up taking his own life!
Jamal’s mother forgave her son’s murder which sets Shahmeer free only to hear about Qaiser’s death and how Heer was going to stay with Jamal’s mother in his memory.
This is where a pleasant twist came in the story. Jamal’s mother did not want Heer to spend her life all alone, and therefore, called Shahmeer to marry her, thus ending the drama on a happily ever after.
Qurban’s story has taken us on an emotional roller-coaster ride since day one and we will certainly miss watching it. There was never a dull moment in the plot and it dealt with the topic of dual nikkah quite intelligently.
Talking about the actors, Shehzad Sheikh is getting better and better with each play while Iqra Aziz is turning out to be a bundle of talent whereas, Bilal is an actor to watch out for as he has shown some promising skills for acting.
Directed by Ahmed Bhatti who aces at directing and editing the plays, we eagerly look forward to more of his productions as he clearly knows how to keep us hooked!
