Belapur Ki Dayan Episode 6 Review: Highly Intriguing!

Amar Khan as Neelofar (Dayan) and Sarah Khan as Tasha take the crown!
Belapur Ki Dayan, an unconventional drama that has become all the rage these days, owing to its brilliant content and a story that's truly gripping. In an age, where horror dramas are more of a mockery of the horror genre altogether, Belapur Ki Dayan is one serial that keeps you on the edge of your seat, anticipating each scene with a fervor. Amar Khan, Sarah Khan, two young and beautiful girls, are the highlight of this amazing serial, which promises to take you on a thrilling ride, filled with anxiety, fright and everything that makes keeps your eyes shut, yet making you peek at the screens every other second.
Belapur Ki Dayan is a story that revolves around Aziz and his family consisting of his wife, son Rameez, daughter in law Aliya, daughter Tasha and two grandchildren Mannat and Wajdaan. The family moves into an old mansion of a house but as soon as they shift, strange occurrences become a daily business. Tasha, the young daughter seems the most affected. Tasha keeps finding a young woman, of her age, appearing in front of her and gradually she has become completely possessed.
Aziz Sahab's son, Rameez, after having arguments with his wife and losing his job is devastated. Rameez's wife Aliya, too has witnessed the supernatural presence in the house, having almost lost her son to high fever that resulted as an encounter with the dayan. She insists on leaving the house for a better place but Aziz Sahab is adamant.
So what went on in the recent episode, lets find out.
After a horde of paranormal activities in the house, and Rameez having lost his job, Aliya is adamant something is wrong. At the same time, a colleuge of Rameez's also senses something wrong and asks him to let him pay a visit to his house. While he does so, he confirms supernatural presence at Rameez's place to which Aziz Sahab puts him off.
Still, after leaving, Ghainda, is not satisfied and he rings up Rameez only to warn him that his son might be in danger. It is at the same moment, the family hears Wajdaan shouting for help. Upon rushing to him, they discover Tasha, completely under influence and holding Wajdaan by the neck. She's unstoppable and takes him to the roof to throw him down. This is where another spirit makes an entrance and begs Tasha aka Neelofar to stop.
She stops therein but Aliya, fearing for her son's life calls Ghainda again to come in and help. He confirms Tasha being possessed and calls out to the spirit with a song to which she responds. Sarah Khan's acting at this point has been just amazing. She can see her being completely possessed and from her demeanor to the grunts and panting, Sarah nails each and every movement.
Upon hearing the song to which Tasha responds while being possessed, Aziz Sahab goes into a reverie and we discover, that the so called dayan, happens to be his half sister Neelofar. Aziz's mother had perhaps married his taya, who happened to be very strict and irrational. Neelofar, his only daughter, who was very close to Aziz's mother, was the sole heir of his wealth. Aziz, considered Neelofar and her father, his arch enemies and thought of him as a snake upon his rightful share. Things got worse when Aziz fell in love with a girl named Shahana and in exchange for her hand, Shahana's father asked Aziz to marry his sister to Shahana's brother as a family tradition.
Taya Ji is angered and so is Aziz. He already hates Neelofar, referring to her as a dayan and so things get worse when Taya ji and Aziz get into a fight and Aziz hurls accusations at him, claiming his dayan daughter will always stay alone, unmarried because she was crazy.
Jolted back from the reverie, Aziz, in his present day, has a chance encounter with Neelofar as the dayan, where she tells him that she'll destroy his family life just as he destroyed her. She tells him to leave her home and go away to which Aziz partially agrees.
Aziz finally knows the house is haunted by his own half sister and his mother. Although his mother tries to keep Neelofar under control but she is hungry for revenge. Amar Khan as Neelofar the dayan is absolutely amazing. You see her as the scared young girl as Neelofar and how accusations hurled by Aziz hurt her on her face. Amar Khan successfully conveys Neelofar's pain as a young girl without even uttering a single word, her expressions are enough to bring about what she's feeling. On the other hand, you see the same girl transform to an ugly, hungry beast as the dayan. She is unforgiving and frightening. Here too, Amar nails her character, right from her attitude to her dialogue delivery. The stresses and pauses she takes, blows you off.
Horror has become more of a comedy with dramas that do not know how to tackle horror, emerging left, right and centre. But Belapur Ki Dayan is different. It has a solid subject matter, a story that keeps you intrigued and performances that frighten you. Saife Hassan has extracted amazing performances from his lead actresses, Sarah and Amar. The ladies without a doubt take the crown for being the highlight of Belapur Ki Dayan. This drama has us hooked and we just cannot wait for more!
